Talking about my 2025 reading goal

A few years ago I had the opportunity to get back into reading books consistently. I made a goal to finish 12 books, about one per month, within the year and I did it! I was so happy. I was motivated to double my goal the next year and failed miserably. My excuse is that I started taking classes at the community college and focused more on reading textbooks and lecture slides. So while I couldn’t quantify my consumption of the printed word with novels, I didn’t leave my mind stagnant and used my time to acquire knowledge of the world. So I’m not too mad about it. Though there are still many books on our bookshelves that have yet to be opened and they all stare at me whenever I’m in the living room.

At the end of 2024 so many people on Instagram posted book lists and this particular one, a year-long challenge with set themes per month, caught my eye and I screenshotted all the slides in the post. I could’ve saved the post in my Instagram account but I’m pretty sure I’d forget about it so I thought moving the list to somewhere i’d see it more often is a better idea.

This 25 IN ’25 CHALLENGE as well as these beautiful graphics were created by the kind folks from the People We Meet at Bookclub podcast (FB group here). A big thank you for helping me set my reading goal this year!

If this one doesn’t interest you, i’m sure you’ll find other online book clubs, bookstagrams, and book Youtubers to explore. There’s so many! I’ll include a short list of links at the end of this post to some clubs and Instagram accounts I’ve found and some of which I follow & watch.
